Thank you Federal News Radio hosts Jane Norris and Tom Temin for having me on this morning to talk about the business and government utility of Twitter. Thanks to the fast action of their web guru Chris Dorobek, you can already listen to the interview online. I referred to the folks in this TouchBase Blog post by Hillary Hartley on Government use of Twitter. Listen here.

Laura, great interview. Don’t forget you can direct folks to http://www.GovTwit.com for a listing of Federal agencies and individuals using Twitter (along with industry, state and local, the Hill and International government as well).
You mentioned about the Deputy Secretary of State having a Twitter account and Tweeting in regards to her trip to Romania. I am currently visiting Romania, and have been here for the last six weeks.
One of the local news stations here, during their coverage of our U.S. presidential elections commented about how much more advanced the Americans are in terms of campaign marketing, in reference to Obama and his use of social networking.
A few days latter I read about the Romanian PM being the first leader of an EU nation to have a live Twitter Feed. One of the cool things about Twitter is that it is leveling the playing field in some senses. Due to its accessibility, anyone who is interested can join the online conversation at a moments notice.
