I'd forgotten this post until Alex tweeted it today :) I've since changed to using the @leslie handle in the meantime, but it's nice to know the post is still relevant.

Clients that call the Twitter API have limits. Tweetdeck is governed by those limits, as well as limiting columns. In order to replace the openness and functionality of 'see all @ replies' fully as i used to use it I'd have to have a search column for every person or company I follow. :) I can only have 10 using TD, for example. The 'see all @ replies' feature was never opt in for everyone, but for those who chose it, it offered instantaneous benefits we have to spend more time finding elsewhere now.

Intriguing to learn your time management plummeting due to inefficiency, whereas I see the opposite effect. My time management is soaring due to the efficiency of not seeing every @reply from every person I follow. Less distractions = more concentration.

Also, if you use TweetDeck or similar application, why focus on groups when you can have search columns? That way, you can see as many @replies as you want for keywords relevant to your business and increasing your engagement.
