LONG comment warning! (you got me thinking)

A couple of months ago I started autofollow and LOVED IT. No longer did people slip through the cracks or drop off if I had family emergency. Then I started to use another ID @ehowexperts and decided to experiment. I signed up for not only auto follow but for one of the quick track to followers. That was okay but I was not impressed.

So I did what I do on personal account only upped the plan. I followed all the people I know that have VALUE to offer in some way and that follow back. I also looked to follow people that would possibly interested in our seminars and our links to news and articles.

Things I figured out are that if you are a no follow then you miss out... you are missing the other side of the conversation in general timeline unless someone @replies you. I don't 'hear what the tweeps are saying unless searching by name, subject or hashtag.

The ratio that twitter imposes at the 2K mark means that somebody has got to go. What value am I to someone if I don't' followback? I do clean off all that are not good for my image . However I can only try to get them to write to me or check blogs based on what I present to them and not the reverse. AT least I think I have that right. :)

I role modeled after MCHammer (back when MC had 11K) and others like Problogger and Mayhemstudios. I figured if a TECHNO savvy Celeb follows back then that is beneficial. If people like Problogger followed back well there must be good reason. I didnt' even question why, until I came up against the 2K block and the ratio thing twitter imposes.

As you pointed out yourself, twitter is about interaction. I don't' like Autofollow either but I don't want to lose good followers because they clean me off the list in a swoop of non followers cleanup. I will use autofollow with direct message until a better solution comes along. I initiate conversation as much as I can with people I see on screen when I am online..

And that is how I came to write today. I used to follow @pistachio but I think the ID was deleted in one of my mass cleanups and oops moments. I have added back now. Hope to see ya soon!
