Why Do You ReTweet? Take the Survey

by Dan Zarrella on February 4, 2009

To further understand how a ReTweet in specific and viral messaging on Twitter work, I’ve just launched a new survey. The survey is only 17 questions and should take around 5 minutes to complete, so please go fill it out and then tell everyone you know (who’s on Twitter) about it too.

Once I have a sufficient number of respondents, I’ll analyze the results and post my findings. I expect that the survey will be up for a couple of weeks in order to gain enough answers for significant data.

This survey is similar in structure and content to my last, the Viral Content Sharing survey. And the questions are designed to elicit information about why and how Twitter users spread information through Twitter.

As I write this, there are just over 100 responses to the survey and I’d like to have over 1000, so I really appreciate everyone who takes a few minutes to complete it and I especially appreciate everyone who ReTweets the link: (http://tinyurl.com/baxdek).

In order to get more survey results, maybe you could ask people to RT it. :) Kidding aside, I am interested to see what your survey can tell us.
