I had very nice bursts of productivity on the train to and from NYC this week. I was also privileged to see the work environments of several folks I know. Walking down Park Avenue I thought “Ah, so THIS is where Jane Quigley works.”
The last year taught me lots about my own continuum of “modes” between work and play. Some of the most arbitrary and meandering of which have yielded the most valuable business results (ahem, Twitter… social networking…)
All of this got me wondering how you would answer the question “Where do you work?” Most who replied via Twitter did NOT answer with just a company name. *That was a pleasant surprise. Maybe because I hinted that any kind of answer was cool. In the comments, add yours.
(*Tho I admit, I *am* still curious what company you work for…)

I’m a road warrior, but really enjoy the days I work at home which is sometimes one or two days a week. The corporate office is 3000 miles away so I try to drop in once every couple of months. I also work at my second home on the water whenever I get the opportunity for serenity and soul revitalization.
@marketingprofs Usually, in my kitchen island, on a laptop, running upstairs to the PC when necessary. If I take them 2 at a time, it beats the gym. The rest of MarketingProfs, however, is based in LA. (http://www.marketingprofs.com)
Two days a week, I work at home, in my quiet, comfortable office, surrounded by cats. Three days a week, I work in a cubefarm at the Company site. I work for a large internet company in Silicon Valley. You’ve heard of them.
Laughing out loud as I have a very similar set up to the photograph (same screens and mouse, light and space etc!)
I do fee work at clients offices or at my desk. I use transport time to work on my own material for podcasts. Ideas and/or solutions to problems come after I have chanted for a while or been soaking in the shower!
